I think the decision to simplify the use of colour and partially finished canvass draws the eye to the subject more. It was also a painting that was great fun !

The name 'Zenobia' was chosen, as she was a strong minded queen from antiquity. This model reminded me of such a strong willed individual.

Such moments often follow a period where you have felt that no progress is been made, only to realise that such periods are essential before those breakthrough moments. So thankyou Ashley.

But whilst painted obviously, I couldn't help thinking about the life of the girl in the picture, wondering how her life may have turned out.
