I am entirely self taught and have painted and drawn seriously since the early 1990's. I currently attend regular life-drawing classes, and study the great masters at museums and art galleries, when possible. Previously I became a member of the North of England Art Club based in Newcastle. During the time spent drawing and painting, a variety of subjects have been attempted, but over the recent years, I have developed a real passion for drawing and painting the landscape of the Lake District.

Joint exhibitions showing his work have been held in Leeds, London, Ilkley, Newcastle and many of my works are held in private collections in the United States, Australia and parts of Europe.

In 1991 I completed a BA in History and Philosophy North London University. Following this I trained as a Psychiatric Nurse and qualified in 1996 at the University of Bradford. Subsequent areas of employment included an adolescent in-patient unit and then within forensics before completing a PGCE in History at Durham University. Following a brief period spent teaching History I returned to the NHS and eventually trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). Since 2008 I have worked within the private sector as a CBT and EMDR therapist. Within the last ten years an increasing amount of time has therefore been devoted to art.
